E-DAY
FEBRUARY 27 & 28, 2008 STOP USING ANY UNNECESARY POWER JOIN THE E-DAY
"The small things in life can make a big difference"
Energy Saving Day (E-Day) is an editorially and financially independent and apolitical organisation which aims to make action to tackle climate change.
Their proposal is to make a 24 hrs maximum reduce power consumption in the UK,
between 6pm on Wednesday 27 February 2008 and 6pm on Thursday 28 February.
Everyone who wants to take part in E-Day is being asked to leave off household electrical items, which do not need to be on, and to leave these items off for as long as possible.
These might include lights in rooms that are not being used, televisions left on standby, mobile phone chargers left plugged in, unused printers, etc, etc.
During this experiment everyone in the country will be invited to see if they can save energy in their home, school or office, by leaving off electrical items which are not in use, and then offered direct feedback on the results of their actions on national electricity demand via the E-Day website (www.e-day.org.uk).
Climate change is a very serious reality, we can make the difference, each and every one of us count, let’s listen to the earth, let’s respect nature.

FELI Z JUEVES!
Bueno, es tradición poner un post anti-valentine en este blog, pero ahora no siento especial desprecio por esta fecha... casi, casi podría llegar a gustarme... pero naaah.
Aunque, platicando con algunos de los inmigrantes españoles de aqui, rei mucho con esta idea:

Después de discutirlo arduamente con Elihu, dijimos, ¿porque no dos celebraciones, y otra que se llame dia de la Chela y el Chibuqui? Todo dependería la cantidad de dinero que la damicela en cuestión haga gastar al caballero de blanca armadura...
Aunque, platicando con algunos de los inmigrantes españoles de aqui, rei mucho con esta idea:

Cada 14 de Febrero los hombres tienen la oportunidad de demostrar su amor a su media naranja ofreciendo flores, chocolates, cenas románticas, películas de amor o todo lo que una mujer puede encontrar romántico.
Para los tíos… nada. Hay que admitirlo; no hay ningún día especial donde las mujeres pueden demostrar su aprecio. Por eso se ha creado una nueva fiesta. El 18 de diciembre es ahora oficialmente el día de: CHULETÓN Y MAMADA.
Simple, eficaz y explícito… este día ha sido creado para que las mujeres puedan demostrar su amor por el hombre de su vida. Nada de cartas, ni de flores, ni noche especial en la ciudad, ni baile sudamericano… es muy simple, un buen chuletón y una buena mamada. ¡Eso es todo!
Estos días combinados, San Valentín y el día de Chuletón y Mamada, nos van a llevar a una nueva era de amor donde todos los hombres se esforzarán para hacer del 14 de Febrero un día inolvidable… para asegurarse un buen día 18 diciembre.
La idea está lanzada y como todas las ideas nuevas hay que hacerlo circular para crear un efecto de bola de nieve, así que hacedlo circular a ver si hacemos crecer el amor y la paz en este mundo de locos. Además, al no ser una celebración auspiciada por multinacionales, ni por grandes superficies comerciales a fin de incrementar sus ventas, no deberían producirse reticencias, aunque todos conocemos a las mujeres…
